Hello and welcome to the new Better Than Dreams blog site! After the best part of a decade on Blogger, I decided to switch to self-hosted WordPress (read more about that process here at my other blog, This Second’s Obsession) and change up the blog name while I was at it, as I think Better Than Dreams (originally just the name of my YouTube channel) is a stronger name than This Fleeting Dream.
Today is a double celebration as I’m also taking part in the blog tour for the book Baker Street Academy: Sherlock Holmes and the Disappearing Diamond and I have three copies of the book to give away! It’s a very cute-looking middle grade graphic novel that was published by Scholastic last year.
Here’s the summary: John Watson has barely settled into his new school, Baker Street Academy, when his teacher announces a trip to one of London’s top museums, home to the world’s most famous jewel. But it’s been stolen! When police catch the thief it seems the case is closed. Can Sherlock Holmes uncover the mystery behind this extraordinary gem?
It sounds like a lot of fun and I definitely want to give it a read, even though I’m far older than the target audience!
If you’d like to win a copy for yourself or your favourite kid (big or little!) enter using the widget below. The prize draw ends 11 February 2017 at 23:59 GMT.

31st January 2017 at 1:59 pmBesides Holmes…naturally – my favourite fictional sleuth is Columbo. I love the way he gets the criminals to underestimate him so much before he pounces…although it mus be the only detective stories that you know full well who did the deed all the way through? 😉
