The Twelve Dogs of Christmas, by Lizzie Shane
This is basically Gilmore Girls meets Parks and Rec at Christmas. If you want to live in Stars Hollow (or at least visit), and a grumpy town councilman who puts himself under too much pressure sounds like your kind of love interest, this is the book for you. It’s a sweet romance (no sex) that focuses around a dog shelter and a community that often bickers, but comes together in the name of love and dogs. Probably not one for you if you’ve been recently bereaved or if you don’t like dogs (WHY?!)
