Easter Readathon 2020 TBR

10th April 2020 By Julianne Leave a Comment

Asda have cancelled my Easter egg.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic I’m stuck away from my family with no hope of a roast.

There’s only one thing for it: books! And so today I have decided to join in with the Reading Through Infinity Easter Readathon. It is, after all, good practice for Dewey’s in a couple of weeks.

I gave myself ten minutes to populate my TBR according to the prompts, and this is what I ended up with…

Easter Readathon 2020 To Be Read pile

Prompt 1. Read a book that gives you spring vibes

This was the hardest to find – in the end, I looked at all my unread Eva Ibbotsons and decided to look inside for any suggestion of a season. This one, The Dragonfly Pool, says ‘on a fine spring day’ on page 2, so on the pile it went!

Prompt 2. Read a book about new beginnings

Rootbound by Alice Vincent is a memoir about the author making a new start in her life after the end of a relationship and falling in love with plants, so it qualifies twice over!

Prompt 3. Read a book that’s under 250 pages

For this I picked We Who Are About To, by Joanna Russ, a 119-page sci-fi novel, because I thought it would give the pile some variety.

Prompt 4. Read a book with a yellow or green cover

Having selected two chunky books for the start of the pile I decided to stick with smaller volumes. 26a, by Diana Evans is only 230 pages long so was perfect.

Prompt 5. Read a book involving family/friends

I love the film Kamikaze Girls so I had wanted to pick up Novala Takemoto’s original book for some time. It’s only 219 pages so I really hope I get to it!

Wish me luck!

I won’t be reading solidly over the weekend as I have several YouTube videos to finish filming and editing, plus I’m working on a writing project and have some Zoom chats with friends, but I hope I’ll at least get to the shorter books on the pile! I’m starting with We Who Are About To.

Have you read any of these? Are you taking part in the Easter Readathon? Let me know!
